BREAKING NEWS! ComedyCity is moving to the Sports Corner

Ok. We’re really truly 100% for sure on this one… seriously, stop snickering.

As of March 1st, 2010, The Sports Corner in downtown De Pere will be our new permanent home. The first shows at the new venue, will be Friday & Saturday, March 5th & 6th.

Pretty much everything you know and love about our shows - the format, the players, the showtimes, the prices and the family-freindly hilarity - will stay the same. Just the place we’re doing them will change. And it’s not really that big of a change - we’re only moving about three blocks or so.

The address of the new venue is 500 Grant Street, De Pere, WI 54115 on the corner of 5th & Grant, next to the Nicolet Restaurant.

So, after March 1st, don’t go to the old theatre because you’re going to be there all alone.

Please Note: We’re moving to the Sports Corner, not to be confused with Coaches Corner off of highway 41.

Scott Roemaat, Sean Yahn & Jared Knabenbauer rehearse a scene from the 2009 One Act Theatre Festival.

Warren Gerds, theatre critic for the Green Bay Press-Gazette, calls the 2009 One Act Festival a “burst of imagination” in his review of opening weekend.

“The plays are myriad forms of comedy, silly and laced with sight gags on one end to dark and even a bit mean on the other. All the material in this fourth annual festival is new and from local talent with a lot of gumption.”

3 Stars for ‘Vampire Variations’

Green Bay Press-Gazette theatre critic Warren Gerds gave “Vampire Variations” 3 out of 4 stars in his review. Notable quotes include:

“…bizarre, physical, wild and imaginative…”

“…lots of wordplay, some stake-in-the-heart stuff but no bloodsucking. The whole is comic creepiness or creepy comedy – your choice.”
